The Follower, public art commissions
Alserkal Avenue, Dubai, 2022-2023
The Follower, is a series of public art commissions inviting the public to pause and observe the signs in our surroundings, in homage to the way our ancestors could navigate their way by observing major constellations in the night sky.
Commissioned by Alserkal Arts Foundation, and curated by Nada Raza, The Follower brings together works by selected artists represented by Alserkal galleries. The five artists, namely Fahd Burki, Ala Ebtekar, Sahand Hesamiyan, Timo Nasseri, and Sarah Almehairi, have produced new site-specific works across the Avenue while exploring different scales and mediums for the first time.
